BANANA J-BAN A,B
The many large 2 and 3 panels in our collection are the actual size of our film, some using 2,3, or even 4 panels of film to create an image. Inspired by the Japanese screen or Shojii, our first 3-panel palm was born of necessity, since my deficiency in cultivating indoor flora inspired me to create a folding screen that would be a more permanent solution for the presence of a palm. In 1996 we made our first 3-panel palm as a photogenic drawing. An antique photo process that involves painting heavy watercolor paper with photosensitive emulsion before exposing it to a negative image, it creates a pleasing deep brown color and fine detail. The resulting handcrafted prints blend antique photo process and contemporary styling. Archival pigment print on 300 gsm watercolor paper. Signed Madeline and Robert Longstreet and numbered. Edition of 200.
